Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

2 blinds or shades mounted on the same headrail. Typically this is to cover a large window where the size is too large to allow a single shade. Each blind or shade on the headrail will have its own set of controls so one blind may be open while the other is closed. We recommend splitting very large blinds into 2-on-1 headrail. If it is recommended that your blind be split you can still choose to have it manufactured as one single blind, however, it will void the manufacturer's warranty.

Recommendations and Limitations 

  • Headrail and slats made 3/8" smaller than width ordered on inside mount. Please do not adjust your measurements – the factory will make this deduction automatically.  
  • Deductions may vary +/- 1/8".  
  • These blinds are designed to filter light and provide privacy, but are not fully blackout. Some light may pass through between the slats when closed.   
  • We recommend avoiding installation on windows with direct southern or western sun exposure, as prolonged heat and sunlight may cause slight slat warping. For sun-facing windows, consider our 2" Designer Luxe Faux Wood Blinds in Deluxe colours, specially designed to withstand higher heat and humidity. 
  • Inner straps are white regardless of the slat colour chosen.
