Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

Description 

The 2" Value Light Filtering Sheer Shades are one of our most popular window coverings, providing the benefits and style of a shade with the functionality of a horizontal blind. These zebra shades are made with two pieces of fabric, which both have alternating panels/bands: one 2 ¾" - 4 ¼” colour band followed by one 2" - 2 ¾” sheer band (exact size will depend on colour chosen). When the bands on both pieces of fabric are matched together, you get the look of horizontal blinds when open, including an outside view and natural light filtering into the room. To block the light and increase your privacy, you simply rotate the fabric so the solid colour bands fill the entire shade, giving the look of a traditional roller shade. This collection of light filtering shades is custom made from knitted polyester, and is evenly weighted at the bottom, offering a perfect fabric drop. Choose from 13 designer colours.

Recommendations and limitations

  • Because of the design of this window treatment, no extra fabric is added to roller.
  • Product can only be mounted to the top or rear of window casing. Side mounts not available.
  • Headrail deduction: 1/4" with or without cassette.
  • Inside mount: Fabric will be 1 3/8" less than ordered width. 
  • Outside mount: Fabric will be 1 1/8" less than ordered width.
  • We recommend ordering the same lift system for shades going in the same room.
  • Motorized blinds have colour-coordinated fabric-insert cassettes.
  • Cordless blinds will have a colour-coordinated aluminum headrail.
  • Depending on the height of the shade, opaque sections may not align in the fully lowered position.

Replacing our window treatments was the last step in putting our home back together again after damage from Hurricane Fiona is 2022. And I was determined to get it done before the one year anniversary of the storm. I have always had someone else measure, make and install our window treatments, so I was nervous about doing the measuring and installing ourselves. But the reviews I read, and the information on the website gave me the confidence to give it a try. The free samples were also very helpful. That's a great feature. We were very impressed with the quality of the Roman Shades and Zebra Blind we ordered, and installation was much easier than we expected. And with a week to spare before the 1 year mark since Fiona blew through, we had our window treatments up, and we were done! Now I am measuring other windows in the house, so we can replace those coverings too!
