Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

Recommendations and Limitations

  • Back side of shade is white.
  • Inside mount: 1/4" headrail deduction and 3/8" fabric deduction taken at the factory. No deductions to headrail or fabric on outside mount.
  • Spacer blocks, extension brackets, hold down brackets, and side mount brackets are not available.
  • No-drill Headrail is only available in the colour white.
  • No-drill headrail option is only available for inside mount.
  • No-drill headrail max width: 84”. Max height: 84”. 2 1/8" of depth to install required.  
  • The locking mechanism on the no-drill installation headrail will be located on the right side.

I recently purchased six blinds four of the blinds are the type that can go up and down giving privacy with a view. Two of the four blinds do not stay up one of which drops approximately an inch and a half to 2 inches every time it’s left in the open position. I’m not pleased with that outcome as three of the blinds are all together and it’s very obvious that it drops. I’m concerned that this may happen with the others as well. I am now going to purchase straps to keep them up tight when they are open as I want them all to be uniform. I also gave them the exact measurements of my window opening and two of the blinds that were to cover a 91 inch space are approximately 1 inch too short. two blinds that were to be 45 1/2 inches each were each short by almost a half an inch leaving a space that was quite visible when installed. Below our photos of each end of the double blinds showing the gap from them being slightly short, and I have also attached a photo of the blind that drops. It also does not drop evenly one side drops further than the other. I am not happy with that blind
