Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

These budget-friendly cellular shades come standard with a cordless lift system, making them the perfect choice for families with kids or pets, as there are no dangling cords.

Note: Inside mounted blackout shades might have a small light gap on the edges of the shade. If you would prefer no light gaps, please consider ordering outside mounted blackout shades.

Recommendations and Limitations

  • Inside mount: 3/8" headrail deduction and 1/8" fabric deduction taken at the factory.  No deductions to headrail or fabric on outside mount.
  • Not a 100% light-blocking product. Note there will be slight gaps on sides due to fabric deductions when inside mount selected. For more light blockage, consider ordering as outside mount.
  • Hold down brackets and extension brackets are not available for this product. 
  • Clear plastic handles are included
  • The no-drill installation headrail comes in white and is only available for inside mount.
  • No-drill installation headrail max width: 67”. Max height: 63”. Requires 2 1/2" of depth to install.
  • The locking mechanism on the no-drill installation headrail will be located on the right side.
  • IMPORTANT MEASURING TIP: If the no-drill installation headrail is chosen, measure the exact width of the top of your window frame and use those measurements as your width. Do NOT take the smallest of the three measurements, which may cause your headrail to not fit properly.

First time purchase from Select. Used their website advice to do the measurements and the fit was perfect. Easy to put up, quality is fine for the price. It was great value. Only thing I would do differently is make the length measurement about 6 - 8 inches longer than the opening. This would allow the blinds to sit closer to bottom to block out more light. I expect they will stretch a bit over time. Will do that on the next order!
