Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

Note: Inside mounted blackout shades might have a small light gap on the edges of the shade. If you would prefer no light gaps, please consider ordering outside mounted blackout shades.

Different Replacement Blind

This blind was a replacement blind for a corded blackout blind which after minimal use, would no longer stay in the up and open position. The gear just wouldn’t hold. I feel this was due to the weight of the blind as it was 69” wide and a blackout. It took some convincing to get Select to replace with a non corded push/pull version rather than the original ordered. I didn’t want a potential repeat of the same issue. So far, this blind is great. Consumers beware of heavy blinds when ordering anything over 4’ wide, especially if it’s blackout. (my personal opinion)
