What To Do When Blinds Won’t Lower After Shipment
It's a small thing, but very frustrating. You've ordered your blinds and installed them and...they just won't open.
This is most likely due to something called the "Pawl"(see figure) binding. Most likely, you can release the blinds by pulling the lift cords to the side or by pulling it towards the center. Try each of these a few times. If pulling the lift cords does not work, the pawl binding will have to be released manually. Here are the instructions:
- Remove the headrail from its brackets.
- Press the pawl bindings in the headrail down in the track in which it travels.
- Replace the blinds in their brackets and try lowering the blinds normally, using the lift cord. This should work.
