I’m very happy with the replacement blind I received from Select Blinds — the Bottom-Up Lift & Lock Two-Fabric-Combo Lift.
There are a couple of things buyers should know upfront. While Select Blinds is advertised as a Canadian company, customers should be aware that products may be manufactured outside of Canada. My original top down/bottom up blind shipped from the USA, and this replacement Bottom-Up Lift & Lock Two-Fabric-Combo Lift blind shipped from Mexico. Also, this particular line does not come with a no-drill option, so installation is permanent.
That said, this replacement has been a far better fit for what I originally believed I was purchasing. In my experience, it is a much truer top down/bottom up blind than the originally advertised top down/bottom up option. My first blind functioned more like top down only or bottom up only, and when the window was open, the bottom of the blind would wave and slap around in the breeze. This newer style performs much better, feels more secure, and is clearly the better solution for my space. Installation was also very easy, with little to no mess.
What stood out most to me was Select Blinds’ customer service. Their team was patient, helpful, and genuinely committed to making things right. They listened to my concerns, helped me find a better alternative, and stood behind their product in a way that left a very positive impression. That kind of support matters, especially when blinds are a significant purchase.
My biggest regret is that I didn’t receive that guidance before purchasing my other blinds last summer. If I had known then what I know now, I absolutely would have chosen this style from the start and avoided being left with two other blinds that still wave and slap around in the wind. Now that I’ve seen how much better this replacement performs, it really emphasizes how valuable the right recommendation is from the beginning.
Even with that frustration, this experience has restored my confidence in the company. The quality of the replacement and the excellent service have made me feel much better about continuing with Select Blinds in the future. I only wish I had found this solution sooner, because I would have gladly made the same choice for the other windows as well.
My advice to other customers would be to buy one blind first, even during a sale, and confirm it is truly the right style before ordering for multiple windows. Most importantly, reach out to customer service before placing your order, because in my experience, that guidance can save you from an expensive mistake.
So while Select Blinds may not be solely Canadian in terms of manufacturing, their customer service reflects the kind of care and customer-first mindset that leaves a lasting impression. They turned a frustrating situation into a much more positive one, and that has gone a long way with me. I would absolutely recommend them — especially if you take advantage of their support before making your final decision.
